Sugar Challenge #25

Today I went to my parent's house where I crafted the day away with my Mom and Gram!  We had so much fun and I got VERY inky! :)  I made a card using the Sugar Bowl Sketch....a chance to win 12 sugars....that's like heaven!!!  The addition to the sketch was to use your FAVORITE color...I bet you can't guess what mine is?!?!
Yep...........It's PINK!!!!

I'm cutting it VERY close to the deadline to get this cutie uploaded....so I will come back later and edit to give you all the details on the card along with a recipe!  :)

ETAI used Hug in a Mug for my card!  Papers are Making Memories - Sabrina Collection.  Of course I have colored Miss Sugar with my Copics.  I used my new deep edge MS lattice heart punch behind my image...I'm loving those deep edge punches!!!  Tulle and ribbon used for some added depth.

A close up of Miss Hug In A Mug:

I have added Star Dust Stickles to this girlie's earmuffs and the end of her scarf.  My Black and Silver Spicas were used on the hot cocoa mug for some added sparkle.  Crystal Stickles was added to the snowflakes along with pearl centers.

Here I have made a ribbon rose!  I can't find where I found the tutorial.  Darn ..... thought I had it bookmarked in my computer and do you think I can find it!  If I do find it I will post the link in here.  I love the look this adds especially with using that silver lined ribbon!

I really dislike taking pictures at night with my Ott Lite...I'd rather have the daylight....but this will work!

My Beautiful Christmas Card from My Hubby!

I had to laugh so hard this Christmas!  Last year I gave my hubby a hard time for not getting me a card....he said he didn't have time to get to the store to get a card and I told him he should have went in my craft room and made one.  His remark at that was that he couldn't use my stuff because he would use the "wrong" thing and I would be mad!  I told him that he could use my most favorite paper and embellishments and it wouldn't matter because it would be a card I would treasure forever!

Well this year he must have remembered what I said because this is the card I got:

He told me he wanted his "own" watermark!

Isn't that adorable?  He's so funny!  I asked him why no dp paper or glitter and sparkles and his response was that when he was trying to make my card he went into my craft room and was pretending to wrap my present.  After 1 1/2 hours later he came out with one decorative box (no wrapping paper involved) and I was like what the heck took you so long....of course he just smiled and I was like whatever.  Then when we went to my parents house for Christmas and opened our presents and I saw this card I knew what took him 1 1/2 hours in the other room that night!  He said he couldn't use any punches or things because I was in the room right next to him and I would have heard everything and knew something was up.  He said he was trying to be so quiet going through my embellishment drawers to try and find stuff to decorate the card with...he did find the "love" sticker! :)  I think he did wonderfully!

For the past couple days he's been asking me if I put his card on my blog yet....I think he secretly wants to be blogland famous!  LOL!  He says he is a "natural" born cardmaster where I had to "learn" to make cards!  Oh that guy cracks me up!  Love him to pieces!

As you can tell by the card my present from my hubby this year was a trip to Vegas!!!!  I am so excited and can't wait to go!  We are planning our trip over my spring break in March...what a wonderful break from school that will be! :)

ETA:  Any recommendations of places to stay, things to do, or places that are a MUST SEE in Las Vegas please let me know! :)  All info is greatly appreciated!

I've hope you enjoyed my hubby's card as much as I did!

Recipe:
Stamps: n/a - He wanted to use a stamp but was afraid he'd wreck them because he didn't know how to clean them!  Isn't that cute?!  I'm giving him a class in stamp cleaning 101 so next time he can use stamps!
Inks: Sharpie Black Marker - I told him there is a whole desk of Copics in there and he can add some color...he won't hurt anything....lol!
Papers:  GP cardstock - he was too afraid to use dp because he thought the ones he liked looked to expensive to "wreck"....silly boy!
Tools:  paper cutter
Embellishments:  DCWV sticker

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I want to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!  We are getting some more not so fun weather in Wisconsin (sleet, freezing rain, and snow!)  It puts a damper on holiday travels...I'm hoping the weather improves so that I can make it to my Grandparents house for a little bit...my cousin is home from Texas and I would really like to see him! :)

Today I have a WOJ card to share with you!  My poor Henry's haven't been inked up yet so I thought I would make an easel card with one!  I used the sketch over at the WOJ Challenge Blog...I'm hoping to play along with them more now that I'm on break from school!

I have used the Making Memories Tinsel papers...these are so cute (thanks again Crystal!)

Henry and his girlfriend are so cute sitting on their candy cane!  7 Kids carries the WOJ Henry stamps!  The frame was created with my Spellbinders Classic Frameabilities and Labels One dies.  You can find the amazing tutorial by Yvonne to create this frame hereDiamond stickles were used on the snowflakes for some bling!

Image was colored with my Copics and cut out with an Octagon nestie.  I distress papers with weathered wood and tea dye distress inks by using my Inkssentials Blending Tool.  I added frosted lace stickles to the white areas of the candy cane.  Liquid applique was applied to Henry's hat.

On the bottom of the card I used my MS border punch for the background.  Then stamped my sentiments from my JustRite Christmas kit and embossed with holographic embossing powder to add sparkles to the words.  I then used my circle nesties and cut the middle sentiment apart from the outside sentiment, then popped the middle up with dimensionals.  Snowflakes again covered with diamond stickles.

I hope you all enjoy your day with family and friends!  Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

*******************************************************
Are you all ready for the holidays...tomorrow is already Christmas Eve!  WOW I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!  I have one more shopping place to stop today before my family Christmas tonight!  My immediate family celebrates our Christmas at my parents' house on the 23rd!  It's really laid back but so much fun!  My family Christmas last 3 days due to the size of my mom and dad's families!  Christmas Eve is church and my Dad's parents' then Christmas Day is my Mom's parents'!  I love it....my cousins are flying in from Texas this year....I haven't seen them in a couple years now...so I'm very excited!  My hubby doesn't understand as his family only consists of his Mom, Dad and sister....you would think after 7 1/2 years of being with me he would have adjusted by now!

Today I have a gift packaging project to share with you.  I have a friend who asked me to decorate a tin that she could put a necklace in for a gift.  I used an old prima container and added some paper, ribbons, and jewels to make it pretty!  The only requirements were it should be black and red and she wanted an "M" on it!  Here is the BEFORE pictures:

And here is the AFTER:

I used the same paper collection as my airplane Santa card from yesterday....they are from The Paper Studio.

Ribbons are from my stash.

I took the multi-colored rhinestones  off of the tin and added just red and clear ones to match my theme.

I love how the medallion turned out!  I used my Just Rite stamper with my curved letters for the initial.  I stamped some flourishes from my Autumn Leaves set in Distress Fired Brick ink.  Then I took one of my mini Prima stamps and stamped in black over top of the swirls.  I cut the medallion out with my scalloped circle nesties and finished it off with Christmas Red Stickles.  For behind the medallion I used my new Fancy Tags...oooo I so love these and can see them being on a lot of my projects now.  Then for the decoration behind the fancy tag I used my Fleur De Lis pendant set....I used one of the small dies in that set, cut it 7 times and layered those to look like a circle.

I hope you like how this turned out....my friend absolutely LOVED it....that always makes me so happy to see someone's eyes light up when they see what I've created!

Flying By to Say Merry Christmas...

The countdown is dwindling...Christmas is almost here!  Are you all ready to celebrate?  Well I'm finishing my shopping tomorrow...have to go to the Harley Davidson dealership to finish shopping for my brother.  Today I am hoping to wrap most of the presents and to make some sugar cookies (the dough is already made...just need to roll it out, cut into shapes, and bake!)

Today I have a fun card to share with you!  My Uncle called me the other night and asked if I could make a special Christmas card....of course my answer was YES! :)  My Grandma's cousin's husband was in the Air Force in his younger days and my Uncle found a picture of the plane that he flew in the Vietnam War.  My Uncle was wondering if I could make a card with this plane and somehow have a Santa sitting on top of the plane.  This got my wheels turning.....and here is the end product:

I am very pleased with how it turned out...I'm taking it over to my Uncle today, I sure hope he likes it.  I used my digi Santa from my Stamps and Smiles Christmas Eve set.  I shrinked him down to fit in my plane...used my Xacto Knife to carefully place Santa in the cockpit of the plane.  The papers I used are from My Paper Studio.  Snowflakes were made with my MS punch and Marvy punch.  I added Star Dust Stickles to make them sparkle.

Santa was colored with my Copics.  I used my Spica Black and Spica Gold on Santa's belt for some shimmer.  I used my Spica Red and Clear on the candy cane Santa is holding.  Added liquid applique to the trim on Santa's hat and coat.

Then I used my bow easy to create the red bow.  After attaching the bow I thought the top of the card needed a little something more.  That's when I added the cream colored branches and used my Versamarker to color the edges of the branches, and added my Ranger Gold embossing powder to achieve the little extra that the card needed.

For the finished inside I carried the same papers through.  On the left side I used my MS snowflake punch.  On the right side I used my Nesties Labels One for the spot where my Uncle can write his sentiment! **DON'T FORGET: Spellbinders are on Sale at 7 Kids TODAY ONLY!!!  Check out my post -->HERE<-- for all the details!

I hope you enjoyed this Santa flying by to Wish You a Very Merry Christmas!

Mr. and Mrs. Snowman

It's Monday....and the Monday before Christmas at that!  Do you have all of your shopping done?  I actually am finishing up my shopping today....but first I have an appt. for a massage at the spa....after final exams I think I deserve a massage!  lol!  Hubby and I are going together so it will be a fun day!

Since it's Monday; it's my day to share Embellish-Online creations with you!

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Snowman:

I saw Carla's snowman card like this on her blog and thought it was so adorable and found out through Carla's post that Aimee actually started the snowman card.  They both used their Cricuts to create their snowmen.  I would have used my Cricut but it is buried behind lots of things on my desk (and I really don't have a lot of desk space to use my Cricut yet) so I used a bowl, circle punches, corner rounder, and my scissors to make my snowpeople!  For the base of my snowpeople I used white American Crafts Textured Cardstock.  My card measures 6" x 4 1/2."

For Mr. Snowman I used the Imaginisce Polar Expressions Paper Collection.  I decorated his hat with an Imaginisce Poinsettia flower (I love how sparkly these are!)

For Mrs. Snowman I used the new American Crafts Blue Skies Paper Collection...it's so much fun using non-Christmas papers for Christmas cards! The edge of her hat is decorated with May Arts Velvet Ric Rac, and then I have made a flower collection accent piece using some flowers from my stash....one being a Prima that didn't match my pink paper, but have no fear I found a Copic that matched perfect and then just colored over the flower and it matches beautifully now!  I have also used a White Imaginisce Wild Flower and in the center of the collection is an American Crafts Flair Piece.

I hope you have enjoyed my snowpeople; and if you make one I would LOVE it if you would link it up on this post so I can come and visit your snow people! :)  Make sure you head on over to EIO to see all the amazing specials that Barb has going on (you can click on the link in my sidebar to go shop)...and make sure you tell her that I sent you!

Wish me luck that I get all of my shopping done today...thank goodness I only need a couple more things!
