Happy New Year!

This week at Magnolia vs. Stampavie there was a sketch challenge! I just love sketch challenges...if you haven't noticed! :) However, I was trying to figure out how I was going to interpret this one....I didn't have 3 Magnolias that I liked all together to use in each window (and I don't have any Stampavie stamps....YET...hope to in the near future...hee hee)....but I have Tilda with Vine and Basket that I thought would make a SUPER cute New Years card! Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar and Everybody Art Challenge their challenges were to make a New Years card so this was going to be perfect to use for all the challenges!

Here's the Magnolia vs. Stampavie sketch created by Donna.
And now for my interpretation of the sketch! I decided to rotate the sketch. Tilda is colored with my Copics which both are purchased from Wish On A Scrap. The red paper is Bo Bunny, and the black is some more of my wedding invitation paper left over. Ribbons, primas, brad, and spacer is from my stash. Tilda is double pop dotted to stand up off of the card. And the middle panel "New Year" is pop dotted up. I love all the dimension of this card! Wish I could share the 3D-ness with you!
And of course couldn't get away without decorating the inside of the card! Again paper is left over from my wedding invitations! I just love that paper....it's a very thick black card stock with lots of shimmer to it! I'm going to be sad when it's all gone! Good thing I still have a few pieces left to play with!
I want to thank everyone who comes and visits my blog and leaves such wonderful comments! I have met so many wonderful people from all over the world in the past 8 months, and I am so happy to call you all friends!
Sending my wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy, successful, creative and inky 2009!

Another WOJ Christmas!

Now I love Katharina's sketches, so when I needed to make a Christmas card for my other Grandma, I headed right to Katharina's blog to see which sketch I wanted to play with! I decided on #27! I love the idea of working with sketches because then you kind of have a blue print of what you will be spinning off of with your ideas!
I used the WOJ stamp, designed by Elisabeth Bell, the Christmas Tree which I got from Loreen at Wish On A Scrap. I didn't think this image would be too terrible to color....but boy was I wrong! There is TONS of detail to this stamp, which I did love once I got going! I am not thrilled with my coloring on this one...but everyone has off days, right?! And we are our worst critics!!! I used DCWV Christmas stack paper, primas, and ribbon from my stash. The sentiment stamp is one that I got from my crafty Grandma!
Even though I wasn't thrilled with the outside of the card, I absolutely LOVED how the inside turned out! I have been seeing people make wreaths from their MS punches all over in blogland lately and thought I needed to try this! It turned out superb! Boarder punch is also MS! I love the gingerbread men on that punch!

I also came upon some more blog candy give away to share with you:
Hurry on over to Melissa's blog because she is giving away some candy!
And Sheetload is giving away some frosty candy because it's brrrr cold outside!
I have one more Christmas to attend tonight. This is Christmas with my in-laws!
Enjoy your weekend, and have fun stamping!

WOJ Challenge #12

I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas, and you got everything that you wanted! I was very blessed this year and got a Blackberry from my hubby, and my parents got me a Janome mini sewing machine! I can't wait to start sewing on my cards now, like all of you awesome girls out there!

Below is my entry for the WOJ weekly challenge! This challenge was to create a Christmas card without using red and green! I loved the challenge....as I had this lovely pink and purple Christmas paper from my DCWV stack! (Since I didn't get to play along with Challenge #11, I used the sketch Heather created for that challenge on this card too.) I made this card for my Grandma, and she loved it! Willow was colored with my Copics.Seeing how I used Willow with cookies, I wanted to make this into a baking theme card. So I used the cute Christmas cutter embellies on the front of the card, and for the inside (on the left side of the card) I created a recipe using our family! Grandma LOVED that part!!! I got the idea from another blog, but I forgot to save the link, so if you are the creator of this idea, please let me know and I will gladly put your name here! :) On the right side I used my corner punch that I got from Wish On A Scrap, and the sentiment is a stamp that my Grandma gave me, so it was neat to be able to make something with the supplies she gave me, and of course the boarder is made with a martha punch!
This was my favorite christmas card created! Must be because of all the girlie colors! hee hee!

Ying has some magnificent blog candy she's giving away! Stop by and check it out!
Stamps: WOJ, Stempelglede
Papers: DCWV, Bazzill, stash
Tools: MS boarder punch, Corner punch
Embellies: Prima flowers, Bride flowers, ribbon from my stash

Basic Grey meets Roses on Paper Challenge

This is my first Basic Grey Challenge and my first Roses on Paper Challenge. I am so excited to be playing along with such fun challenges! This card was a hoot to make! The theme over at the Basic Grey Challenge blog this week was "Going Green!" You had to reuse something old! I used 2 old things on this card! On the bottom left of the card, I used some tiny ornaments from my table top tree. Then on the background of Charlie you will see snowflakes. I used a snowflake scrap I had laying around from a previous card, and sponged around it to create the snowy background.

The Roses on Paper challenge this week was a sketch challenge. You can see the sketch HERE! This is a brand new challenge blog, and I am so glad I found it (thanks to Jeanette's blog)! I had so much fun playing with their sketch!

This card is the Christmas card that I made for my hubby! I can't wait for him to open it (I can post this here....because I don't think he ever checks my blog....hee hee!) This Whiff of Joy stamp so reminds me of my hubby...it looks just like him when he was a little boy!

And here's a close up of Charlie! I colored him with my Copics! Added fun flock to his hat, wrists, and belly. Used stickles on the bow of the present that Charlie is holding. Also used glossy accents on the apples in the scene. All products were bought from Loreen at Wish On A Scrap!
And last but not least is the inside of the card! Gotta love those corner punches! I told you I will probably use them on all of my cards now! Ha ha! The sentiments reads "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," the lighting really didn't want to work well with this pictures. I did not decorate the left side of the card, as I used that to write a letter to my hubby!

Tonight we are off to Christmas Eve mass....it's my absolutel FAVORITE mass of the year!!! I so can't wait for 6 PM to roll around! Our choir sings Christmas carols an hour before church starts, and the mass is just so beautiful! After church we are off to my Grandparents house, can't wait to go and eat some of Grandma's famous cut-out cookies, no one makes them like Grandma does! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Hauling Along to Wish You a Merry Christmas!

As many of you who follow my blog, know that my Dad is a milk truck driver, who just recently bought a brand new truck! When he got his new truck I had to find a Peterbilt truck stamp to make him a congratulations card.....well this stamp that I got comes in handy for any occasion! Yesterday I whipped up a Christmas card for my Dad with the truck stamp! The card was a total hit with my Dad, my brother, and my brother's friend (who are all truck drivers)! Gotta love it when boys like your creations!

Here's the envelope....I love the "Santa" ribbon...it's so cute! The letters were cut out with my Cricut. And here's the "Haulin' Along" Card:

I made a small wreath to put on the grill of the truck! I wanted to put a red ribbon on top the wreath but I couldn't tie anything that small (so instead I just put a rhinestone on top). After I took the picture I remembered that I had little Santa hats, so I put a Santa hat on top of the truck too! That was super cute! Wish I would have gotten a picture of that!

And then we have the inside! I love the corner punch! I just bought a bunch of them from Loreen at Wish On A Scrap! I think I will use them on all of the insides of my cards! They just add that extra touch that the inside my of cards are usually missing!

I will have some more Christmas cards in the next few days to share with you all too! I have been on a role....probably because I had to get them all done for the holidays! hee hee! Better late then never, right?
I want to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! I am so thankful to have found so many friends this past year in bloggerland! Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and "inky" 2009!

I Survived Finals!

Woo-Hoo...finals are done....and I have my grades back from 4 of my 5 classes and they are all excellent so I am super excited! All the hard studying (and no crafting) paid off!

Today was my first day back in the crafting corner since Thanksgiving (I think)...it's been such a long time!

Today I am sharing some altered tins that I created! My friend asked me a while ago to make some cute boxes or something because she made some pieces of jewelry to give as gifts this Christmas but wanted something to present them in. I knew the minute she asked me that I wanted to use some tins that I had in my craft corner. I had so much fun making these cute little tins! I hope my friend likes them as much as I do!
The paper colors correspond with the pieces of jewelry she made:
And the insides of the three tins are all decorated too!

Thanks for taking time and stopping by to see me! I can't wait to share some more projects tomorrow!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend, and for those of you who still have Christmas shopping to do, my prayers are with you! It was crazy yesterday when hubby and I were out and about finishing our shopping up!
Lianna is offering up some wonderful candy, so head on over and check it out!

Twas the Night Before Christmas....

Twas the night before Christmas,
I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa
brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock
or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said,
with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls
Should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa,
And now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look
In this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
As he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap,
I'll see you next year!"

This is so what my hubby would say to me!!!! Can I really help that I love collecting supplies? Hee hee! I have seen this on a few blogs now, and I just had to share it! It's too cute not to pass on!

Penguins in the House!!!

Penguins Galore!
Aren't these penguins the cutest thing you have ever seen?! I got this stamp from Walmart....you know the clear stamp sets you have hearing about that are only $2.97 right now! I just had to get these because they are so darn adorable! And they fit PERFECT on my square ornaments! I got the idea for these ornaments from Angie.....thanks Angie! I colored the images with my Copics (which you can get from Loreen over at Wish On A Scrap)!Paper used is a mixture....DCWV, Debbie Mumm, and scraps from my stash!
I think the snowflakes were a perfect touch for the back of the ornaments. I used my Martha snowflakes punches....added some glitter to the inside (which you can also get at the Wish Store)....added ribbon from my stash and a jingle bell....and they were complete!

Here's the penguin collection:

If you would like to purchase one of these, please click my profile on my side bar, and click on e-mail!

Liquid Applique - Day 2

So did you all miss me....seeing how I have been gone for a few days? This week was so busy! Of course there is school.....which is getting VERY crazy with finals approaching VERY FAST! This my last week of regular classes, and the following week is finals....then I am officially on winter break! I am looking so forward to it....so I can finish my Christmas shopping and create some crafts for a whole month and a half that I am off! YAY!

During the beginning of the week my hubby surprised me by saying we were going on a shopping excursion! So this past Wednesday we left for our shopping trip down to Gurnee, Illinois! There is a HUGE outlet mall down there we go shopping to every once in a while (it's about 4 hours away from our house)! We had a great time on our mini vacation! We got back friday afternoon, and yesterday I was gone to a stamp camp (pics will be posted later this week) and running errands with my mom! I am sad b/c I missed the deadline to get my creation in for the WOJ Guest Design Team application for the next two months, but I know there is always next time! :( However, I didn't get a creation made b/c I was busy visiting with my Grandparents yesterday afternoon....and that was definitely worth missing the deadline!

Today I got my Christmas tree up...it's only a 2 feet tall table top fiber optic tree but it works in our small apartment! I got some poinsettia garland from Joanns yesterday for my window ledge so that helps bring the holiday theme into our small space!

NOW....on to business.....

Here is a sneak peek of my Day 2 with my Liquid Applique creations for Wish On A Scrap. Click HERE to head to the Wish blog to see the full creation! If you wish to buy one of these cute creations, please contact me by emailing me. Thanks for stopping by.....and there will be Christmas blog candy available VERY SOON here! Check out Bea's Megastamping candy....it looks really yummy!
